Late ‘n’ Live: Pleasance Dome, Edinburgh, 2011
Ray Peacock (a character created by comedian Ian Boldsworth) was the compere for the legendary Late n Live comedy showcase that I saw at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2011. Having successfully performed several shows at previous Edinburgh Fringes’ with comedian Ed Gamble, I was keen to see Yorkshireman Peacock deliver comedy. Starting at 1am and finishing at 5am, Late ‘n’ Live consisted of a ninety-minute comedy show with compere and acts followed by a band and optional dancing from the crowd. Peacock, as MC for the comedy held court and skillfully managed the raucous crowd whilst being thoroughly entertaining and introducing the acts.
