The Scaffold: Reunited – A Celebration: Bristol Slapstick Festival 2023, St Georges, Bristol, 2023
Mike ‘McGear’ McCartney, brother of Paul, is one third of the 60s Liverpool outfit The Scaffold. With their blend of comedy, music and poetry, the group had a number of records including Thank U Very Much (which was in the charts the month and year I was born in August 1967) and the number one hit Lily The Pink.
At 79 years of age, McCartney appeared on stage with the other members of the group for The Scaffold Reunited – A Celebration at The Bristol Slapstick Festival in February 2023. Hosted by Harry Hill, the group performing classic sketches and reading wonderful poetry. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the group come together for one night only which ended of course with a singalong to Lily The Pink.
