James Alexander Hall is a Hull-based comedy clown and seasoned street performer whose highly interactive act blends audience participation, homemade props, games and magic. Over the past decade he has appeared at major UK festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Wilderness and Latitude, before presenting his chaotic pop-culture cabaret Smörgåsbord at the 2024 Hull Comedy Festival. Following that show’s sell-out debut, he returned to the festival in 2025 with the animal-themed solo cabaret Heavy Petting. He is also a member of the International Idiots along with Gary Jennison.
I have seen Hall as a guest for the Hull Comedy Festival at Cottingham Comedy Club, as well as performing his own solo show Smörgåsbord in 2024, and a team member for RSPCA Comedy Panel show: Cats vs Dogs, and his own solo show, Heavy Petting in 2025.
