At last. I had been wanting to see Johnny Vegas live for years and to everyone’s surprise he appeared at Nick Helm’s Xmas F*ck Fest in London in 2018. Having never seen him before, he took to the stage, alcohol glass in hand and proceeded to rant. The drunken shenanigans were easily the highlight of the evening from trying to set my friend up on a date and going to extremes to make his night memorable to trying to find a solution to Brexit. An absolute original, Vegas has been an essential part of modern comedy since the nineties and his crude, absurd, ridiculous, life affirming humour was something that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. I hope it is not as long until the next time.
