I saw Eshaan Akbar play Always Be Comedy in March 2019. The very accomplished Islamic comedian had some truly great punchlines to stories involving his Britishness and his heritage. He talked about the efforts and familiarities of having such a mixed identity with some very funny comparisons and seemed effortlessly at ease with the audience delivering big laughs.
Akbar was extremely funny talking all things nineties when he appeared in the online game show Clueless Does The 90’s in November 2020.
He was a superb guest for The Last Leg that I watched being recorded for Channel 4 television at the BBC Elstree Studios in March 2024. He was very quick-witted and razor sharp with news events.
An excellent guest addition to a wonderful bill, Akbar delivered a hysterically funny 15 minutes on stage at the Boat Show Comedy 25th Anniversary Show on The Tattershall Castle in London in March 2025.
I wish him every success and I look forward to seeing the funny man again soon.
