Rhys James has become a regular at Always Be Comedy where I have seen him several times.  The young comedian has a superb understanding of an audience and can easily interact with them.  His jokes come from everyday life and absurd observations, which the crowd related to and always seemed to enjoy.

I saw James in January 2018 at Always Be Comedy where he has played many times and as ever his gag-hit rate was extremely high.  He always has me in fits of laughter at his clever jokes, routines, and observational ideas.  James is a regular on the comedy circuit and has rapidly become a great comedian.

I saw the brilliant comic appear again at Always Be Comedy in September 2018.  The audience easily associated with him easily through displaying lots of charm, comic talent and by the way he puts together a set which featured amongst other things stale relationships.

He returned to Always Be Comedy in March 2019 where he was deservedly top of the bill producing a routine of very clever new material. I met him after the show and told him that I was due to see him again in quick succession on the Headliners bill.  He told me that he would try and change the material around, but he needn’t have worried.  The audience loved his over analytical style and delivery as he mercilessly rattled off gag after gag involving the front row of the audience, his relationship with his new girlfriend and his mum.

I saw James perform a ten-minute set for Edinburgh Comedy Allstars at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2019 where the late-night crowd loved his style of humour, and he went down a storm.  James did a further set for Always Be Comedy in September 2019 and his separate routines about a murder mystery evening and the act of bathing were priceless.   James also appeared in the first Always Be Comedy Online show providing yet again that he had very funny bones.

One of television’s Mock The Week stars appeared at The Greenwich Comedy Festival in September 2020 and again at Always Be Comedy Online in November 2020 where I was heavily featured in his set whilst watching from the virtual front row where he was extremely dry and witty with his stories and jokes.

The comedian headlined Always Be Comedy Online that I watched in April 2021.  His brilliant routine included moving home and his experiences of noisy neighbours.  James’s delivery of a story was effortlessly funny, and he really entertained the online crowd.

James performed for Always Be Comedy live on stage in May 2021 and November 2021 where from the word go, he was relentless in making the audience laugh.  So many funny lines about his size, name, relationship, and lifestyle were delivered at such speed that I could not stop laughing out loud.  At the November show, I sang badly on stage before he was introduced and as he walked on, he announced how can I top this?! I was featured a lot in his set to much hilarity with him even proclaiming that I was his promoter! He was a joy to watch to date his funniest performances.

He returned to Always Be Comedy Online in January 2022, Always Be Comedy live at Kennington in June 2022, the new venue at Wandsworth in September 2022 and again in Kennington for the Christmas Show in December 2022.  He had a wealth of new material for his forthcoming 2023 tour, Spilt Milk, including for one set, PowerPoint visuals to enhance the funny lines.  An absolute natural at making the audience laugh, whether online or live, James delivered blisteringly funny routines.

The comedian returned to Always Be Comedy in February 2023 for a full preview of his new show Spilt Milk, and then again for the 12th birthday show in June 2023.  The joke rate was exceptionally high and the stories about daily life were hysterical.  It was a consistently laugh-out loud hour of superb comic material delivered with a razor-sharp wit.

James is a favourite on the comedy circuit, always worth seeing and has become a truly great comedian.
