There are not many professional comedians taller than me, but Tom Davis is one (He is 6 ft 7 inches, and I am 6 ft 2 inches). The star and main writer of the successful comedy TV series Murder in Successville played Always Be Comedy in September 2019 and his new work-in-progress set for a forthcoming tour included a hysterical routine about a meeting with boxing legend and hero Frank Bruno. Davis was warm, funny, self-depreciating and an absolute gent when I met him after the performance.
Davis also featured in Always Be Comedy Online in July 2020 describing his hilarious experiences during lock down. He also chatted to compere James Gill for Always Be Comedy Online in April 2021 talking about his comedy career.
The comedian returned to Always Be Comedy in June 2021 where he played live at the Tommyfield pub. It was as though he had never been away as he delivered a perfectly timed routine of angst and hardship during the pandemic. He appeared again as a guest at the club in May 2022, again at the new Always Be Comedy venue in Wandsworth in September 2022 and for a third time at Kennington in February 2023. Each time he was just as frustrated and just as funny describing the stresses of daily routine.
