Madame Chandalier’s Opera House Party: Hastings Fringe Comedy Festival, The Jenny Lind, Hastings, 2022.
Madame Chandalier’s Opera House Party was a bonus show that I saw at the Hastings Fringe Comedy Festival in June 2022. For opera lovers and non-opera lovers, Canadian soprano Delea Shand created a party with dozens of different operatic stars (with the operas being guessed by the audience) using crazy wigs, bizarre games, opera singing and stand-up comedy. This was a wonderful uplifting hour long show that could be used in a school curriculum. I even took part in the final recreating an opera with her on stage. Playing all the parts, it was a truly inspired turn and a great show.
