It has been wonderful following Sara Pascoe’s star rise over the years.  I have seen her many times and watched her confidence grow.  Her persona is one of naivety and her comedy is spontaneous and scatter-brained but it is also very clever and recognisable.  As an example, her solo show Animal, which I saw at the Soho Theatre in London in 2016 was an examination of the evolution of the female body and she was unflinching as she expounded on big issues like religion and sexuality.  It was weighty but also featured stupid and very funny asides.  The material was easy for the audience to understand, digest, and was also very funny.

I have seen Pascoe perform a number of different routines at Always Be Comedy.  She always appears at the club to high acclaim creating sets of well-researched and hilarious material and has become a well-deserved popular comedian.

I saw Pascoe perform a full show at Always Be Comedy in June 2018.  On stage, she was warm, likeable and honest in her views explaining big, complex ideas yet often undermining her own intelligence with a daft joke.  Her show LadsLadsLads was about her efforts to become content and happy living as a singleton which was at times personal and recognisable for the members of the audience in a similar situation.

I saw Pascoe again in January 2019 and September 2019 at Always Be Comedy trying out new ideas and stories. She has become a firm regular favourite with the audience delivering intelligent stand-up sometimes managing to generate laughter from the most unlikely scenarios.  Pascoe is a superb comedian.

Pascoe appeared with Steen Raskopoulos for Always Be Comedy Online in April 2020.  Due to a worldwide virus, the audience were in lockdown and had to link to the show where they were treated to improvisation from the two comedians with suggestions from the unmuted front row.  This worked really well and was hilarious.

The comedian appeared for Always Be Comedy in October 2020.  It was great to see her live on stage as she delivered a wonderful set including describing the experience of receiving some underwear which was exceedingly difficult to wear.  Pascoe’s intelligent comic writing and dry delivery has made her an extremely popular comedian.

After a long period of lockdown, it was wonderful to return to Always Be Comedy where the comic performed live on stage in May 2021.  Describing her experiences of celebrity culture and going to the gym, the half hour was filled with superb thoughtful and intelligent comedy easily winning over the crowd.

Pascoe returned as a guest for a live Always Be Comedy show again in October 2021.  This time, she announced that she was pregnant to the delight of the crowd and her musings on impending motherhood were inspired and hilarious.

Pascoe is an extremely intelligent, honest, and very funny writer and comedian.
